Career

  • I'm a fluvial geomorphologist (get my CV).
  • Degree in Geography on September 2001 (Department of Geography, University of Lleida, Spain). My degree was distinguished with the Extraordinary Award of the University of Lleida.
  • I started my PhD on January 2002, funded by a grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (FPU). The PhD was supervised by Ramon J. Batalla at the University of Lleida and co-supervised by Celso Garcia at the University of the Balearic Islands.
  • I undertook five different predoctoral research stays in foreign institutions completing a total of 18 months: Freie Universität Berlin (supervised by P. Ergenzinger), University of Dundee (supervised by A. Werritty), Universität für Bodenkultur Wien (supervised by H. Habersack), University of the Balearic Islands (supervised by C. Garcia) and University of British Columbia (supervised by M. Church).

  • I obtained my PhD on June 2005 (Department of Environment and Soil Sciences, University of Lleida, Spain). The PhD was marked with the highest level (cum laude per unanimity), it received the European mention and it was also distinguished with the Extraordinary Award of the University of Lleida.
  • After my PhD and during the year 2006 I have worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the Forestry and Technology Centre of Catalonia (Spain), by means of a grant funded by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation.
  • I joined the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences (Aberystwyth University, UK) on January 2007 as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Centre for Catchment and Coastal Research (CCCR). I worked during more than two years until I move to the Forest Technology Centre of Catalonia.
  • I have received a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellowship in Spain. This fellowship is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. I have joined the Hydrology Group at the Forest Technology Centre of Catalonia on March 2009, where I'm working.
